Cove LIGHTING

This essential detail brings beautiful, clear light to rooms of all sizes and purposes. Choose between a very bright tape light (800+ lm/ft), a medium-bright tape light (500+ lm/ft), or an accent level tape light (150+ or 300+ lm/ft) depending if your intent is to provide ambient light or simply a decorative glow.

FRONT MOUNTED

Positioning the linear light towards the front edge of the cove maximizes the light cast onto the ceiling and is typically recommended for accent-level cove lighting.

cENTER MOUNTED

Positioning the linear light towards the middle of the cove balances the light between the ceiling and the cove itself, making it a preferred option for larger and deeper coves.

REAR MOUNTED

Positioning the linear light at the rear of the cove, aiming forward at 45 degrees, maximizes light throw onto the ceiling and is the best choice for high-output cove lighting for general illumination. Because the light is bright, it is important that the fixture not be directly visible, which this positioning helps achieve.

CURTAIN LIGHTING

Similar to cove lighting, this curtain lighting detail features a linear light facing down the curtain. Typically, an accent-level (150+ lm/ft or 300+ lm/ft) tape light works best.

CURTAIN POCKET LIGHT

Mount the light facing downwards inside the curtain pocket. Leave at least 1" between the light and the curtain face. The more space between them, the further the light will case down the curtain. Use a dimmer to ensure a soft nighttime glow as opposed to a streong stripe of light at the top of the curtain.
